THERE ARE SEVERAL TELLTALE SIGNS THAT A GENERATOR ROTOR MAY HAVE ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED These are all issues that can be determined while the rotor is running. More obvious issues are a grounded field or other condition that would trip the unit off-line. Monitoring the condition of the rotor through products like GE’s Generator Health Monitoring system will allow tracking and trending of issues. GE has a suite of monitoring tools we call the GENERATOR HEALTH MONITORING (GHM) system. These are all separate modules that make up the GHM, and we can tailor the GHM solution to account for the modules you need. Please contact your account manager for a quote. #4: WHAT ARE THE COMMERCIAL TERMS & WARRANTY CONDITIONS? GE’S STANDARD WARRANTY TERMS ARE 12 MONTHS FROM INSTALLATION OR 18 MONTHS FROM SHIPMENT. TERMS CAN VARY DEPENDING ON THE CUSTOMER’S NEEDS. #5: WHAT IS THE ESTIMATED CYCLE TIME FROM INQUIRY TO DELIVERY? CYCLE TIME WILL VARY DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY OF THE EXCHANGE ASSET, PERMITTING AND LOCATION OF THE UNIT Fields have been shipped in less than 2 weeks, but actual cycle time would need to be determined and quoted. #6: ARE THERE ANY OTHER GENERATOR COMPONENTS OR ACCESSORIES THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED OR UPGRADED WITH THE ROTOR? SOME UNITS WON'T REQUIRE MODIFICATIONS TO ACCEPT AN EXCHANGE ROTOR. COMMON MODIFICATIONS INCLUDE: oil deflectors hydrogen seals bearing liners excitation system settings #7: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REPAIR A GENERATOR ROTOR WINDING? CYCLE TIME FOR A WINDING REPAIR WILL VARY DEPENDING ON THE WORK REQUIRED. Some repairs can be performed in as little as 1-2 weeks. A full field rewind will take about 30 days, depending on the model type and scope of work. #8: CAN GE DETERMINE IF AN EXCHANGE ROTOR IS COMPATIBLE WITH MY UNIT? Yes we can! The GE team is very experienced in performing the interchangeability study required to help ensure an exchange rotor will fit. As the unit OEM, we have the original unit records, along with repair records and outage reports. Additional information from the customer may be required to augment the information we have available. #9: WHAT ROTORS ARE AVAILABLE IN STOCK — AND DOES THE LIST INCLUDE OOEM GENERATORS?
